If you have a volt meter, remove the thermostat off from the mounting plate and check for 24 volts AC across red (R) and White (W). Then check across Red and Yellow (Y). If you do not find any voltage, follow wire as much as you can all the way back to the air handler that is connected to it. Look inside and see if there is a small Auto (car) type of fuse in the wiring harness. Test and replace if necessary. Jump out the Red and Green terminals on the air handler and replace the door. See if the blower turns on. If so, you have narrowed it to the wiring to the thermostat. If not, you have a power problem and will need a technician.
In my case the blank thermostat was indicative of a problem at the furnace. A blown limit switch to be exact due to a neglected filter.

I have a honeywell PA404A pressure control switch on my home gas steam heating system. I'm having a problem with the switch turning off the system. It will only come back on if I turn the top screw all the way out, then back down to approx 5psi. At this point the heat will turn on but when the thermostat shuts down the system it will not turn back on when calling for heat unless I adjust the screw again. Also, the switch will only turn on the system when set at 5 on the dial on the inside. Any i

I installed a new Honeywell Programable thermostat, When I turned on the AC it turned on the Heater... I followed the wiring but some of it is not making sense... My home heating system consists of an ancient (but efficient and flawless) 1924 Richardson steam boiler. It was originally installed to burn coal, but in the 1930s a Honeywell Janitrol natural gas system was installed. This, too, is still working nearly flawlessly, but there is one, minor problem: The 2.5-foot-long bi-metal internal thermostat, which senses whether the pilot is lit (one end sits in the pilot flame) wore out some years ago. I cross-wired the system to make it appear as though
