Hello All, this is by design. There's a drain pan in the bottom of your unit. When it's humid outside moisture condenses on the cooling coil, drying out the air inside your space. This moisture hangs in the drain pan and gets "slung" back on to the condenser coil by the fan. This improves cooling efficiency. On extremely hot days the drain pan may overflow (by design) out through the back grille. Hotels use drain kits (DK900D) to redirect this water so it doesn't drip down the exterior wall. The water has to go somewhere and it's much better to send it outdoors than indoors! You can find a manual for the Amana PTAC PTH123E35AXXX right here which describes "normal" operating sounds: http://www.h-mac.com/brands/cooling-brands/amana.html

I have a Fill-troll model 110 on a hot water boiler. The fill valve seems to allow too much water into the system (>30psi) unless I close the potable water supply valve. I have also observed that when I open the drain valve to release pressure on the system, the pressure drops as expected but after closing the drain valve, the pressure rises again even with the supply valve closed. I suspect that a restriction in the port to the diaphragm chamber is causing this behavior. Can such a
