In thermostat when turn on to cool fuse goes blown

Answers :

You have a low voltage short from the inside unit to the outside. This is the only thing that will blow the fuse. Check your wiring, it's shorting out somewhere and usually it's outside where the wires leave the wall and enter into the unit. When they are exposed to uv light, the insulation deteriorates.

I installed a new honeywell rthl111 series in Oct. 2012. I wired the blue wire to the RC because that was how the old thermostat was wired. The heat worked all winter but when I tried to change over to cool nothing would work. I checked the schematics online and realized I should have installed the blue wire to the B. I checked the fuse in the power panel and saw I had blown it. I changed it and rewired the thermostat the correct way. I tried again and still neither the cool or heat will work. A

I turn on the Central A/C unit with the thermostat. The attic fan unit goes on and the system cools the house. When the system shuts down the fan unit shuts off but the outside compressor keeps running. The only way the outside compressor goes now off is when I flip the 240 switch on the main box. This just started. Is it a thermostat problem? Thanks.

Could be a thermostat problem but even more likely the contactor on the unit outside is stuck. In order to change this part you will have to get in to the outdoor unit. The contactor is the automatic switch that the thermostat energizes when the t ... Air Conditioners

On My goodman heat pump, It had blown the transformer, I installed a 3amp fuse and when engaged into cool mode blows the fuse. I have narrowed it down to the yellow wire in the heat pump that goes to the low pressure switch and defrost board but cannot figure out what is causing it to blow fuses

I installed a Honeywell TH5220d 1029 thermostat on a American Standard AC/Heat pump and the install and setup went fine. It cooles for about and hour and quit. I found the 5 amp fuse at the furnace blown. I replaced the fuse and it blew again in about 2 minutes. Have followed the wires, checked for shorted or crossed wires but it all seems OK. Tried one more time and blew the fuse right away.?? Any good idesa?

Once you turn on aircon with fan with high speed, the air blown doesn't get cold even after a while. The fan makes some wierd high pitch sound as if like metal against each other. The fan stops once in a while and makes that same sound once it start turning again. This goes cyclic through out the time it is turned on but not cooling the air from the aircon.

Your AC needs a good overhauling as the fan seems struck on the bearings or the blades are rubbing the sides. Also the compressor fails to cool as there can be low gas, low pumping pressure or a blocked condenser.\012You need to remove clean th ... Air Conditioners

Our Furnace doesnt seem to be working correct. We an: Air Pro BGM075128 and is Natural Gas. It will turn on when we turn up the thermostat.. but we never get any heat through the vents. There is a switch on the side that is "on" and one that is "fan". If we turn on the "fan" only cold air gets blown through. It looks like this is for cool air. So, if we leave the fan off and the "on" swith on, we get the furnace firing up, but no heat ever comes through the vents. I tested out the thermo

The A/C unit control is powered from the 24 volt supply in a Ruud high efficiency furnace. The furnace fires up when the house thermostat is set for heating but there is no power in the line to the A/C unit when the thermostat is set to cool. The 24 volt transformer is delivering, and the fuse has not blown. Can you advise?

You will have to trace wiring. See where power starts and stops. Check to see if there are any fusible links in the wiring, or if there are any relays for A/C to wiring. ... Air Conditioners

My dog chewed the thermostat wire by the compressor, i replaced the chewed wire now the thermostat won't turn on, therefore; no ac.. could it have blown a fuse? if so, where are they?

Furnace problem I Have a 2005 Montana3295RK with a duo-therm air conditioner, suburban sf35f furnace and a dometic thermostat with remote. The problem lies with the furnace. It will not turn on, and in the rare event it does it will not turn off unless you either pull the fuse, turn the switch to the off position on the furnace or turn the gas off at the tanks. I can force the furnace to come on by pulling the fuse and then putting it back in and the thermostat does not have to be in the on posit

19 seer infiniti system, system will run for 2 mins. and then cut off and it will not show a code to the outside unit board or the thermostat. Replaced the thermostat and the outside low voltage wiring, then went to test mode on thermostat. Turned high cooling for 15 mins, it will run for 10 mins and then cuts off. It still does not show a code. If you go to the thermostat and turn it off, and reset it to cooling it will run for 2 mins and will cut off.

This cut off is very likely being caused by a defective compressor module thermo limiter (prevents overheating the compressor), replace it. ... Air Conditioners

I have a Carrier Heat Pump model FK4CNF003. I noted that the thermostat wasn't working (no power) so I checked the usual suspects...in bound power etc. before I pulled the top housing off the interior unit. I noted lots of wires on a circuit board in the upper right corner of the unit which seems to route power and signals to/from the thermostat. Looking closely, I noted that the 5 amp fuse was blown so I put in another 5amp fuse and it blew as well. Given the fuse is blown, and I'm assuming

I have an XQ08 model - thru the wall When turned on it provide cooling for approx 10 minutes (sometimes longer) and then it stops blowing cool air. My repair man came and adjusted the sensors which he said might solve the problem. It did not. the thermostat is set to 69, I have it set on 'cool', not money saver. When it stops cooling, and I turn it down to 60, it makes no difference and no sound indicating the compressor clicks on. Any suggestions would be helpful. thank you Ms Hill

Hi\015\012\015\012To fix a cooling problem in AC you must know the cooling process that the condenser (outside unit) pulls in the house's warm air and cools it with Freon. The cold air is then forced back into your home through the duct s ... Friedrich Air Conditioners
