Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?
On ac side blower not starting, all the time and system freezes
Most motors have a thermal cut out that is internal. If the motor overheats, it will shut down. If the unit is freezing up, that would indicate that there isn't enough airflow over the coils or the unit is low on refrigerant. I had a unit that did this same exact thing and after replacing the blower motor and a sequencer, in the end it was the t-stat. You are describing the same exact symptoms and every time I would go out, the unit would work fine. I would suggest replacing the t-stat and then watch the unit. But make sure that the coils are clean and you are not restricting airflow over the coils. Hopefully one of the techs actually looked at the coils to determine if they needed to be pulled and cleaned. Hopefully this answers your question.

I'm getting condensation leakage from the vents in the roof. This is on a ducted system, and it's leaking from the two vents closest to the main blower unit up in the ceiling. It's very high humidity here lately, and the leak usually starts around mid afternoon. Up in the ceiling you can see the drops of condensation forming on the under side of the main blower unit, and also all along the large insulated air ducts. I've got the thermostat set to 24deg, it's usually 30 - 34 deg outside. When I
Two things may need to be done here, one is to insulate the vents in the high humidity/temperature area to isolate them from these high conditions. The second would to install a drain pan under the system to catch any condensation and drain it away. ... Air Conditioners

My goodman heat pump has frozen up 3-4 times already this summer. It is a dual system 10 seer (i believe are the terms). Every time someone comes out they can't figure it out because the system is running fine by the time that they come. Two years ago the blower or activator was replaced (maybe the replacement part isn't so good?) The unit is 9 years old. Last year a guy charged it and about a month ago when it was checked the freon was only a little low. I'm SO tired of this issue. Any ideas

I have Amtrol water heater. Recently I noticed that boiler trying to start several times till it finally starts. That's a good question. What a shop would do, is try one, then, if that didn't work, try the other, in this case- if they had the parts. It's hard to test the sensor correctly, and the temp. control might be intermittent, which means it would sh ... Air Conditioners

I turn the thermostat down at night. When I get up in the morning I turn it back up. The heat kicks on for a minute or two then the unit starts blowing colder air. If I turn the thermostat to the OFF position, wait until I hear all blowers stop, then turn it back to the ON position, it will start blowing HOT air again. Some times I have to perform this cycle 3 times to get it to keep blowing hot air. Any ideas as to what is shutting the furnace off? Thanks, Wayne

Blower motor stopped, there is a medium-loud ''electric buzz'' sound every minute or so as if trying to start the blower motor. Could be relay switch. Last week, I extracted the entire motor and fan assembly (the one in the bottom of the furnace that drives the air through the house duct system). At 30,000 miles my then 8 or 9 month old chevy 2500hd 4wd pickup truck air conditioning started blowing hot air on the driver side (the passenger side was still cold). I turned the truck off and back on and it began blowing normally for a few days and then it would do it again. A few months after that the blower quit working all together. Now at 185,

In Dec 07 I had a complete Carrier AC/Gas Heating System installed in my home to replace my original system when my house was built in 1983.We upgraded the new system to 3-TON AC as the old AC was 2 and half ton. Since the new system was installed in the winter time it was not until the hot weather started in May that a problem arose. The first conclusion of the problem was that the coil was aligne incorrect the second was that we needed more air return so an addition vent was added. No
