Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?

The main fan on indoor unit gets clogged with dirt. It is hard to access and very hard to clean. Are there any tricks? MSY-A17NA

Off all power to the unit.Use water prferably running water through a hose with some pressure and direct it towards the whole length of the fan. Most of the water would be drained out through the internal pipe but just in case it floods prepare a pail to hold the excess water.Wash till it is clean.
Sometimes the best way is to try and vaccum off as much as you can and then blow off the rest. Unfortunatly there isn't an easier way. You try and modify something that you can attach to the vaccum that can get into tight spaces. You might try some small tubing taped onto the end of the vaccum.

Your problem is 'very little air' across the coil and assuming you've cleaned the cooling coil - then the problem has to be with your fan motor. It must be breaking down (the motor is shorted) and running at a vastly reduced speed (which I seen them ... Air Conditioners

Hi. We've been running our LG BP6000ER window unit air conditioner for four seasons. We've made seasonal efforts to clean the interior with a hose, but this year we're noticing a strong mold/mildew smell eminating from the unit particularly when the compressor cycles off. Short of taking the unit to a professional to be cleaned is there anything we can do to either (1.) clean it more thoroughly-- perhaps by removing certain parts or (2.) to kill the mold with a spray of some kind. We had a service technician come out and work on our a/c unit yesterday. He replaced the fan motor (only 2 years old) and insisyed that the fan blade needed cleaning. Next, he said we needed freon, but that the company policy stated that they would not add freon to a unit without first cleaning the coils ($188 for the cleaning). We have never had a technician tell us this before. Sounds like a way to make more $. Can you confirm if cleaning the outside coils is absolutely necessary before a
