Having problems with your Air Conditioners ?

I have Carrier 58 MVP 120 (Heat pump/gas) variable drive blower motor that ramps up then down, when t-stat is not calling for heat. When ramping up it never fully reached max rpm before ramping back down, and continues to cycle like this until I power down unit-wait-then power back up. It seem to cure it tempararly. Any idea's?

Answers :

The most likely cuase is bad connection at the board and or motor. Just pull them off and reconnect them and wiggle em.

My LG LAN125 mini split heat pump occasionally shuts down in cooling mode while displaying the code CA. The LG tech tells me there is no such code. When this happens, I have to cycle power off and back on to the unit. Simply turning it off with the remote does not work. Any ideas?

I found the Bryant furnace 395cav048090 calling for heat but not operational. I shut off power to the unit and switched power back on and the unit started its ignition sequence. With power on the blower starts as a result of thermostat calling for heat from the unit and after a minute goes on to second phase of ignition with exhaust blower motor initiated. During this phase gas is being brought to the burner that you can smell however burner does not ignite gas. Unit continued with this opera

Hello I have a TH232 programmable thermostat that manages my underfloor heating. Recently, it started randomly resetting itself whenever it calls for heat, i.e. when there's a light click. It then goes through a cycle of displaying everything on the LCD screen, then a 17, a 13 and then back to where it was. This also happens whenever I press ANY button on the faceplate. I am trying to contact Honeywell too, but they only seem to be based in Canada or France. Any ideas? Thanks DIY Don

Hi, The problem is caused by a weak power supply from the module behind the 'stat. When it calls for heat, and it tries to operate it's relay, there is not enough power to do it, so the voltage drops and causes the 'stat to cut out. Then the volta ... Air Conditioners

I turn the thermostat down at night. When I get up in the morning I turn it back up. The heat kicks on for a minute or two then the unit starts blowing colder air. If I turn the thermostat to the OFF position, wait until I hear all blowers stop, then turn it back to the ON position, it will start blowing HOT air again. Some times I have to perform this cycle 3 times to get it to keep blowing hot air. Any ideas as to what is shutting the furnace off? Thanks, Wayne

Our heating timeswitch Sunvic select 107XL has suddenly stopped working; not red lights on any setting; so no heat. But it has power, and let's me change the settings. My Carrier gas furnace (ser. 1903A41848) located in the attic, is five years old and suddenly won't light. IT cycles the fan when I cycle the power to the unit and seemingly attempts to ignite through 3 auto-attempts, (I can smell the gas), yet no continuous operation with heat occurs afterwards. Two lights exist on the exhaust vent both begin green yet one turns red after the ignition attempt. Please let me know your thoughts. -Doug

I just moved into a new place and it has the RTH230B thermostat installed. I turned on the furnace, set the thermostat to "Heat" then the fan to "Auto" and used the up and down arrows to set the temp to 72 degrees. The temperature seemed fine for the first hour or so. However, the heat and fan stays on full power and continued to heat at full power well into 80 degrees on the thermostat screen. I could only shut it off by turning off the actual furnace switch. We have recently bought a house with Vulcan ducted gas heating (no pilot light). When the system comes on it produces plenty of heat so I don't think there is anything wrong with the unit itself. Frequently, however, it reaches the set temperature, turns off, and then will not come back on even if we press the on/off button. The only way we can get it back on is to cut power to the house and then press the on button. That would suggest that there may be some kind of program set, but since
